Most common. When both the Asian high and low have dense stop clusters (EQH above AND EQL below), London sweeps both within the session. Pre-session signal: both boundaries cleanly tested 2+ times.
Distinct structural EQL below AND EQH above (not just at the Asian range). Both carry triple or quadruple stop density. Combined liquidity from two dense levels funds a substantial institutional position.
Both prior day extremes swept within the same session. Occurs on higher-volatility days. Produces the largest Stage 4 delivery moves — both accumulated stop clusters from the prior session’s full range are collected.
Both sides densely defined (EQL below AND EQH above)? Daily bias ambiguous? Recent double purge frequency? Flag the session. Plan reduced Stage 1 size and a full Stage 3 re-entry.
If the sweep and CHoCH confirm, enter at half size. The standard Judas entry is still correct most of the time — but on potential double purge sessions, the reduced size makes the potential Stage 2 stop-out manageable.
When the Stage 2 reversal extends beyond the range midpoint and approaches the opposite boundary, the double purge is active. Exit or reduce Stage 1 positions immediately.
The second sweep completes — turtle soup candle at the opposite boundary closes back inside. Enter FULL size in the direction opposite to the second sweep. This is the highest-probability entry of the session.
Both stop clusters are fuelling the move. Target the full AMD daily objective — the delivery typically exceeds the normal single-sweep target because both sides’ liquidity is propelling it.
On flagged sessions, a full-size Stage 1 entry that gets stopped out by Stage 3 is a significant loss. Reduce Stage 1 to half on potential double purge days — the Stage 3 full-size entry recovers and exceeds the loss.
The worst possible response. The Stage 3 re-entry after the double purge is the strongest entry of the session. Being stopped out on Stage 1 is the cost of admission — the Stage 4 delivery more than compensates.
Stage 2 looks like post-Judas distribution. Adding to Stage 1 positions during Stage 2 increases exposure to the Stage 3 stop-out. On flagged sessions, do not add during Stage 2.
When the “reversal” from the first sweep extends beyond the range midpoint toward the opposite boundary, activate the double purge hypothesis. Exit or reduce immediately — do not wait for the full Stage 3 sweep to confirm.
A genuine BOS through one side followed by distribution to the other is NOT a double purge — it is a standard directional session. The double purge requires both sides to be SWEPT (wick beyond, close back inside), not broken.
